Thank you for your email. I went to Musee Musicals and enquired about the grand pianos that they have. I have been waiting for the quotation of the pianos from them. Finally they have sent it yesterday. There are only 4 grand pianos that they have. One is a Steinway another is a B-Steiner (which is in Hyderabad) and the other 2 are Yamaha pianos. None of them are 7 feet pianos in length. They are only medium sized grand pianos. Here are the specifiations:

1. Steinway (model: S-155, Length 155cm) Rs.35,42,400/-

2. Yamaha (model: C2, length 173cm) Rs. 9,66,300/-

3. Yamaha (model: C3, length 180cm) Rs.11,66,250/-

4. B-Steiner (model SIG57D, length 168cm) Rs. 4,60,800/-

If you want a 7 feet piano then after ordering for it, it would take about 6 months to manufacture and send it to India. Mr. Kishore said that the comparision of a Steinway with a Yamaha piano is like comparing a Rolls-Royce with an ordinary car. Even the medium size Steinway piano will sound way better than the Yamaha 7 feet piano. I'm sure you would have heard about Steinway pianos. They come with a lifetime warrenty whereas the Yamaha pianos come with only 10 years warrenty. Awaiting your instructions.

Beloved Calu, First the piano-

As you know I have been trying to get a quality instrument for a long time.

While a 5’5’’ Steinway is a very distant cousin of the concert model, yet I will consider it prayerfully.

Steinway of course is well known to me, & John managed to get an old Steinway which is far from concert grand Steinway.

He sent me your quote for a 5’ 5” Steinway. It is a far cry from the concert grand Steinway &

Here is the picture of this 35 lakh (about USD 70,000 based on the exchange rates in 2008) piano that only the JD's oldest daughter the great pianist can play. After all for all the service the great Pianist has done to LEF, why shouldn't madamji get this toy for 35 lakhs to play when she comes to the retreats? Wait a second...was she banned from LEF pulpits recently? What happens to this toy that her dad lovingly bought for her to be used for God's glory?

We can hear some people already pronouncing curses on us for questioning the Godly decision of late JD to buy this quality Piano to be used for glory of God...

This might help understand why Late JD who paid  Rs.200/-...(not 200 dollars but 200 rupees, less the USD 4) as Honorariums for LEF workers had no right to indulge in this kind of extravagance. Now his son who took over from his dad is a bigger "Thughluq."

He told the evangelist after his dad's funeral that God is not giving him guidance to pay honorariums to LEF workers. We suspect that even this Rs.200/- is also stopped now as all the LEF workers have to learn how to "exercise faith."
How do we know that LEF pays Rs. 200/- per month as honorarium to its workers? Here is a snapshot of one of the many LEF account books we have in our dossier.
